About the Journey of Saino Foundation

SAINO Foundation, established in the year 2014.

Our journey evolved with the workshop--observation day, where elders and local political representatives were invited to make aware and be part of our endeavour and initiative to combat drug/alcohol abuse, collectively and without reprieve.

Set in lush, tranquil surroundings of New Rangia, Matigara on the outskirts of Siliguri, SAINO Foundation offers a rehabilitation platform based on therapeutic community principles--listening, befriending and counseling. The hallmark of our services.

If you have experienced a tragic event, lived through difficult circumstances, or struggled with peer pressure and turned to drugs, alcohol or other addictive substances to relieve pain and anxiety, know that healing is possible.

Addiction to drug/alcohol is a global concern these days. You are not standing alone--we are there with you to take a step towards leading a drug/alcohol-free life. Our experienced team members are always active and willing to discuss the minor to major details of the treatment.

We believe people’s safety is more crucial than their problems.

We know that we are in the grips of a social malaise which can only be overcome by "doing it together".

If you or a loved one is facing such a dilemma of drug/alcohol abuse--give yourself a break and connect with us at the earliest for the well-being of the victim and the family.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Our goal is to free every addict/alcoholic in our society from active addiction. We organize various awareness program related to the consequences of addiction and it's aftermath in high risk zones and areas where access to drugs/alcohol is common and normal.

We conduct workshops, primarily with family members who are facing problems due to substance-abuse issues at home and society. We maintain regular interactions with law enforcement agencies to bring out best solutions to combat trafficking and the safety/well-being of addicts/alcoholics and their families through proper treatment and to eliminate unnecessary legal harassments.

We urge to develop all possible treatment and therapy processes to update our team of volunteers, motivators, staff members and all who are associated with us in this endeavour.

Our Vision

Our Vision

We were just like any other people who just wanted to have some fun. Never did we know the price we would pay. Our lives in shambles and spirit broken, suffering on a daily basis in pursuit of getting a high by the abuse of drugs/alcohol. Every new day was a start into mindless insanity. There were no choices except to keep on repeating.

The desire to discontinue our self-destructive patterns could not be arrested. We simply did not know HOW TO. Words like will-power/self-control didn't work for us like it did for normal people. We were powerless over our addiction and our lives had become unmanageable, however hard we tried to not miss priorities. We visited doctors psychiatrists and mystics for remedy, but there were none.

Then one day we came to know of a place where we would need to give some time to address our dependency over drugs/alcohol and nothing else. We took the plunge for we had reached rock bottom and there were no options left that we had not tried again and again without success.

Those were promising days of our life, the drugs/alcohol stopped at the treatment centre, full of peace and hope we had never experienced. It was then that the seed was implanted to do something which would repair broken lives like ours, stuck as we had been, going through never ending turmoil and heartbreak due to addiction.

As our mental state had become impaired through constant using without any breaks, along with the relapse prone nature of addiction, it was not long before we were back to abusing drugs/alcohol again, with greater fervor and urgency--some of us didn't make it. In the end only few of us remained.

I did not waste any further time and surrendered. I opted for treatment. During this period, the idea which was at the back of my mind, took centre stage and I started making a realistic plan, always with the objective that no addict need suffer and die due to lack of treatment or be unaware that there are ways out of this vicious cycle if one desires honestly.

This time I stayed drugs/alcohol-free, but only after losing too many wasted years/suffering and a lot of experience/learning. After some preparation and support I finally was able to open, to all suffering Addicts/Alcoholics, the Doors of SAINO Foundation.
